The Jesters Costume Contest - POSTPONED

Time to don your gladrags and head to the Methel Stage in the Shire for 7.30pm BST on Sunday the 3rd of October - the Jesters are having a costume contest!

To enter this competition you will need to prepare two outfits:

The best outfit that you can prepare - something that looks amazing, hilarious or just downright sexy
A fancy dress costume - you could be a pirate, a witch, a tree... Anything you can think of and find an outfit for

The judges will award each outfit a score out of ten and the Jester with the highest score at the end will be declared the winner. There will be a monetary prize for this event, as well as some sort of suitably humerous outfit! So be sure to turn up with your outfits prepared - time is ticking to find the prize winning costumes!

Want to be a part but aren't sure you can prepare suitable attire? Prefer casting judgement on others than being judged yourself? Send an in game mail to Waterlily if you would like to volunteer to judge the competition!

The Jesters of Middle Earth are recruiting! If you are looking for a social kinship with a focus on creating fun events for members and the server alike, then we would love to welcome you home to our happy little hole in the Shire!

We’re one of the oldest kinships on this server, and have been causing chaos in the form of naked congas, keg races, music contests, horse races, hide and seek games, chicken runs... the list goes on and on... since day one! If hardcore raiding is your thing then this probably isn’t the place for you, but for a great time with some awesome people that just love to enjoy the game, help each other out and learn the ins and outs of LotRO in a friendly and relaxed environment, get in touch now!

If you're reading this now you've found our website! So why not pop a thread into whatever forum sparks your fancy, or simply contact myself (Waterlily) or one of my trusty officers (Apevidor, Rowanath, Ravenswing, Chugglebut, Cailean or Flannchadh) for more information or to request to join. We’d love to hear from you!

The Great Evernight Horse Race - Sat 14th August @ 7pm BST

A date for the diary of all Jesters...

On Saturday the 14th of August we will be running a horse race for the entire server, with a prize fund that is worth more than 150g!! All Jesters are welcome to enter (if you haven't been roped in to help, you'll soon know who you are if you have ). The race will start at the Stable Master in Michel Delving, and will finish in Echad Mirobel in Eregion (via four checkpoints). Full details can be found at the forum post here.

Although everyone in the server will be invited to this horse race it would be great to have a fantastic Jesters presence there, so if you can make it pop the date in your diary now so you remember to make it for your own chance to win one of the awesome prizes. Also, if you would like to make a donation to increase the prize fund that we're offering to the top three to finish, feel free to send anything over to Waterlily and it shall be added to the fund.

Jesters Skirmish Sparring Contest – Wed 21st 8pm BST

Hello to all you lovely Jesters. I hope that you are enjoying yourself in Middle Earth and have partaken in plenty of Jester-based silliness in the last few days.

To celebrate our great kinship we are planning an event for all in the kinship on Wednesday the 21^st of July at 8pm UK time (BST I am informed…). Meet us in the centre of the Arrowfold instance (it’s the first one on the list) of the Breeland homesteads at the appointed time for some sparring fun, as we set the soldiers from our skirmishes against one another! If you aren’t a high enough level to have enjoyed skirmishes, or simply haven’t been involved in any, then come along anyway as it’s sure to be a typically hysterical time whether you’re watching or taking part!

Keep your eyes peeled (in your mailbox and on our website) for more information on future Jesters and server-wide events as there is plenty in the pipeline!

The Jesters are Back in Town!

I’ve never been one for dramatic speeches… Well… Actually that’s a lie. I’ve always loved a good motivational rant! So here goes…

As you may well know, the Jesters has recently been through a bit of a sticky spot. With an overwhelming number of inactive members resulting in too few people to attempt much of the high level content, the leaders decided to merge with another kinship, forming The Lost Alliance (you can find their forum here ). We wish them the very best of luck, but for the remaining Jesters times they are a changing!

The Jesters has once again fallen into the hobbit-shaped hands of Waterlily. With some incredible officers on board, we are committed to restoring this kinship to its former glory. A kinship that exists for the fun of its members. A kinship filled with folks that love to help others on the server, aiding with quests and even running events for the fun of all. A kinship where it doesn’t matter what level you are, how much you are online and whether or not you like to raid. A kinship consisting of individuals that love falling off high things, and keg races, and congas, and the list goes on and on and on…

It will take time to restore the rowdiness for which the Jesters has always been known now that we have dwindled to but a few members. But never fear! We shall get there.

Keep posted in game and here on our forum for updates and news regarding upcoming events. But for now keep enjoying the game and the company of your fellow Jesters! And feel free to let any officer know if you’ve been questing with anyone that would like an invite.

Forum Roles Rejig

G'day mates!

Having spent a fair bit of time looking around the Control Panel of the Jesters website in the last couple of days it has come to my attention that there are a ton of different roles in place, from Forum Administrator to Alliance Officer to Moderator to millions of other things! Alright, slight exaggeration but you get the idea!!

Over the course of the next few days these roles are going to be removed and recreated for a more effective running experience for all. The reason that we, the officership of our fine kinship, are posting about this is that you may find some functionality removed from your own account if you were ever in a position of responsibility around these parts. Please do leave a comment here if you've lost anything important and we shall be sure that it is restored for you immediately.

LOTRO 3rd anniversary gift to players!

Heya folks, Turbine have announced their anniversary gifts for players (It's the 3rd year of LOTRO would you believe) and though it's a subtle little gift it's nonetheless useful!

Starting on April 21st and running throughout the celebration, we’re giving all current, new and returning subscribers a special gift: the Writ of Virtue, a reward for loyalty and a steadfast heart. But you have to come to the party to get your gift; make sure to log into the game between April 21 and June 30th for this token of our affection.**

The Writ of Virtue: This special scroll will show the Bards that you know the value of revelry and celebration! The Writ grants a passive skill that gives you a 20 percent discount with Bards all across Middle-earth.

1st age craftables on the horizon... New raid perhaps?

Well this item has got to come from somewhere, and I can't see it being just any ordinary instance. But a new Symbol has cropped up on the Lorebook.

It's the new crafting relic used to craft 1st age, similar to the Symbol that drops from the SG instance or the BG raid.

Very interesting.

Moria is Imminent

As I'm sure everyone is aware, the release of The Mines of Moria is imminent. Everyone at the Jesters is excited, and we're looking forward to seeing a resurgence of interest from our kin. I'll look forward to seeing you all underground!
